The University of Stellenbosch Business School, one of the most distinguished African business school, organized an International Knowledge Conference 2012 to explore the role of knowledge in building a better society. Entitled The democratisation of knowledge, the objective of this conference was to move from theory to practical policy-making to address the asymmetries of knowledge in society. A multi-perspective dialogues on the function of knowledge in society were given from the speakers all around the world - the USA, the UK, Brazil, Kenya, South Africa. The keynote speaker at the opening event on Monday evening was the honourable Mr Thabo Mbeki, former president of South Africa.

We are honoured to announce that ICPE Director General Dr Štefan Bogdan Šalej also attended the Conference presenting the case of South America - Brasil and was also the Member of the Academic Team of the discussion.
